Introduction
------------
Pushem is a game which demands a lot of creativity and preview
thinking of the player. If the player wants to solve a level, he must
PUSH red balls onto destinations. He can push only ONE ball at one
time. If a red ball is pushed onto a destination, the color of the
ball is changed into orange. The selection of the destination for
every ball is free. Balls on destinations can be pushed away again.
A level is solved, when every destination has got a ball on it.
There is also a possibility to create his own levels with the
leveleditor included in the game. In addition to this there is a
program called LevelCopy, which allows you to copy levels from an
additional leveldisk. The one who has got an interest in new levels
or the latest version of Pushem can write to the address mentioned in
the file "Copyright.doc" (Please read Copyright.doc).
The one who plays Pushem has got the obligation to write a postcard
or something else. See also "Copyright.doc".
If somebody has got a question on one of our programs, please write
a letter including $2 US/CAN cash for shipping the answer. We try to
answer ASAP (as soon as possible) and solve YOUR problem.
Installation on hard drives
---------------------------
The installation procedure is very eazy, because Pushem is not copy
protected.
1. Boot your Amiga with Workbench.
2. Put the Pushem-disk into one disk drive.
3. Open the destination drawer of the hard drive.
4. Open the Pushem-disk icon.
5. Move the Pushem-drawer icon into your destination drawer.
Starting Pushem
---------------
Pushem is started on the known ways from Workbench and CLI.
If you start Pushem from CLI the current directory must be the
Pushem-directory.
Playing Pushem
--------------
If you have started Pushem successfully and you have got a joystick
in gameport 2, you can select. Move left or right and you get on
different areas:
EDITOR
By pressing the firebutton you start the leveleditor
PLAYER
If you move the joystick up or down, you can select the one or two
player mode. If you have selected the two player mode, a new area
appears on the left. There you can select if the second player
controls with the keyboard (arrow keys) or a joystick in Gameport 1.
LEVEL
If you move the joystick up or down you can select the levelnumber
you start with. If you press the firebutton you start the game.
First you can enter your name which is written to the top 5 if you
are good enough. If you want to give up or see that you cannot
solve the level press fire until you get onto the startscreen.
QUIT
If you press the firebutton you will quit Pushem. Pushem makes no
request if you really want to quit.
Editing own levels
------------------
After you started the leveleditor (see chapter "Playing Pushem"),
your are in the menustrip of the editor in the bottom of the screen:
In the editor you start all actions with pressing the firebutton.
QUIT
You leave the editor and return to Pushem.
!!! Attention !!! You will lose all your edited levels if you do not
save them before leaving the editor. Pushem makes NO safetyrequest.
MODE
CANCEL
You return to the menustrip of the editor.
RESET LEVEL
You clear the level stored in the memory of the editor. The level
stored on the disk will not be cleared!
MOVE MEN
This is a especial way to create new levels. Make a level as it
looks when it is solved. That means that all balls are on
destinations and all men you require are in the level. Move the
men as long as you think the level is difficult enough.
You can move both men with the joysticks freely. If you press the
firebutton while moving you can pull balls. If started the move
men mode only one time it is guaranteed that you can solve the
level. You can quit the mode by pressing the ESCAPE-key on the
top left of the keyboard.
PLAY LEVEL
You can try your edited level stored in the memory of the editor
without saving it onto disk. Of course the level requires enough
men: 1 man for one player game and 2 men for two player game.
ONE/TWO PLAYER
You can select if you are editing an one or two player level. You
can see always the mode which is active.
LOAD
LEVEL
You can select by moving up or down which level you want to load
into the memory of the editor.
LOAD
Loads the level with the levelnumber selected under LEVEL.
CANCEL
Returns to the menustrip of the editor.
SAVE
LEVEL
You can select by moving up or down which level you want to
overwrite. If you select the highest number you create a new
level!
SAVE
Writes the level from memory onto the disk.
CANCEL
Returns to the menustrip of the editor.
The 7 Items on the left of the menustrip are the items you put into
the edited level. You always move the yellow bordered item into the
level.
With moving up you get into the level playfield. With moving down you
get back into the menustrip.
